Summer Exhibition 2017
Join us in the Summer Exhibition Architecture Room to hear the recipients of the Turkischceramics prize discuss their winning projects.
This year, the judging panel for the Turkishceramics Grand Prize for Architecture brought together Bahadir Kayan (Chairman of Turkishceramics), Farshid Moussavi RA (Farshid Moussavi Architecture), Niall Hobhouse (architecture critic, trustee of Drawing Matter) and Rob Wilson (Architecture Editor, Architects’ Journal).
After much deliberation, they decided that the prize should be shared and both Herzog & de Meuron and Richard Rogers RA were recognised for submitting the most outstanding work of architecture in the Summer Exhibition.
During this short in-gallery talk, John O’Mara, Associate and Project Director at Herzog & de Meuron, will discuss their Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and how it enabled their engagement with the curatorial brief. He will be joined by Stephen Barrett and James White from Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners who will take a closer look at their plans for the Geneva airport, which shared the prize with Herzog & de Meuron's project.
