Abstract Expressionism
Tregothnan and Hawksmoor collaborate for a demonstration of how to make tea-infused cocktails. Using the finest ingredients, they will blend their passions for both tea and cocktail-making in a must-attend event for contemporary cocktail fans and tea lovers alike.
Tregothnan
Home to the Boscawen family, the Tregothnan estate has persevered in pioneering botanical firsts since 1334. Inspired by a tradition stretching back generations, they began supplying England’s first and only tea in 2005, creating inimitable Britishness. Tregothnan are hosting a series of events exclusively for Friends of the RA.
Hawksmoor
An award-winning British steakhouse and a sensational cocktail bar with a reputation across London, Hawksmoor serves up critically acclaimed British cuisine alongside exquisite cocktails.
Following the cocktail-making workshop, Friends will have access to the Abstract Expressionism exhibition in the Main Galleries. This exhibition explores an unparalleled period in American art, revealing the full breadth of a movement that will forever be associated with the boundless creative energy of 1950s New York, where artists like Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Willem de Kooning broke from accepted conventions to unleash a new confidence in painting.
The Abstract Expressionism exhibition is open until 10pm. Last entrance is at 9.30pm.
