Learn all about the history, theory and business of jewellery and jewellery design in this eight-week lecture series.

This course will look at the changing trends in jewellery design throughout history including art movements such as Art Deco and Art Nouveau. We will learn about the jewellery trade and great jewellery collections including collections of international royalty. The course will also address the underlying ethical questions of jewellery. The course will cover:

  • The history of jewellery design
  • The jewellery trade
  • Gems and gemstones
  • Iconic jewellery collections

The course is led by jewellery experts and cultural historians. This is an eight-week lecture series taking place every Tuesday evening in the Benjamin West Lecture Theatre and each lecture is facilitated to encourage discussion.
