Summer Exhibition 2019
Enrich your experience of the 251st Summer Exhibition on a 30-minute curated tour led by Bala and Lyubomir, two members of The Connection, a homelessness charity located in Trafalgar Square.
The Connection at St Martin’s is a charity located in the heart of London next to St Martin-in-the-Fields church in Trafalgar Square, supporting those experiencing homelessness since World War I. Today they work with 4,000 people every year who are vulnerably housed or rough sleeping, delivering day and night-time services directly to the streets of Westminster. The Connection have been working in partnership with the Royal Academy of Arts since 2013, attending our monthly Art Club and Women’s Art Group workshops. These sessions engage participants with the range of exhibitions at the RA through artist-led workshops.
This event is part of a series of in gallery tours with learning programmes and partners who takeover this year’s Summer Exhibition edits programme, which invites guests to select five works in this year’s Summer Exhibition that intrigue them the most. We invite you to accompany them as they describe why their chosen works have captured their imagination.
The event has limited capacity, headsets for the tour will be distributed on a first come first served basis.
