Summer Exhibition 2019
Join Bert McKinnell and Jide Bamgbose from Action Space for a free curated 30-minute tour of their five highlights from this year’s Summer Exhibition.
Action space support artists with learning disabilities and creates innovative projects for people with learning disabilities to engage with the visual arts. Their programmes strive to make a professional career in the arts a realistic option for artists with learning disabilities. Since 2011, ActionSpace has been partnered with the Royal Academy to deliver a series of workshops for their participants using the step-up model. In this model, an ActionSpace artist is empowered to co-deliver a workshop with an artist educator, including an art making activity and gallery tour.
This event is part of a series of in gallery tours with learning programmes and partners who takeover this year’s Summer Exhibition Edits programme, which invites guests to select five works in this year’s Summer Exhibition that intrigue them the most. We invite you to accompany them as they describe why their chosen works have captured their imagination.
The event has limited capacity, headsets for the tour will be distributed on a first come first served basis.
