Summer Exhibition 2019
Children from our Academy A programme, run in partnership with the Abbey Centre, lead a curated 30-minute tour of works from this year’s Summer Exhibition 2019.
The children from our Academy A programme have participated in art-making workshops and RA exhibition visits since 2016. Come and hear a group of them share the skills they have built in looking closely and talking about art, as they lead us to the works that most capture their imagination in this year's Summer Exhibition.
Academy A is a programme run by the Royal Academy of Arts in partnership with the Westminster-based Abbey Centre – a thriving hub that has been serving the community for 70 years. Every other month, local families attend free workshops at the RA. The programme is designed to promote learning and creativity, stimulate interest in the arts and help young people and their families fulfil their creative potential.
This event is part of a series of in gallery tours with learning programmes and partners who takeover this year’s Summer Exhibition Edits programme, which invites guests to select five works in this year’s Summer Exhibition that intrigue them the most. We invite you to accompany them as they describe why their chosen works have captured their imagination.
The event has limited capacity, headsets for the tour will be distributed on a first come first served basis.
