250th Summer Exhibition
Four children from the Dream Up programme, Kaisaan, Zaakir, Ayub and Aniza, lead a curated 30-minute tour of five works from this year’s Summer Exhibition.
Dream Up is a family arts programme that was founded in 2016. It is run by the Royal Academy of Arts in partnership with the Abbey Centre. and is the first UK-based initiative of an international scheme funded by the BNP Paribas Foundation. The programme is designed to promote learning and creativity, stimulate interest in the arts and help young people and their families fulfil their creative potential. Every school holiday, participants attend art-making workshops at the RA or at the Westminster-based Abbey Centre, working towards a nationally recognised Arts Award certification.
Kaisaan, Zaakir, Ayub and Aniza (who are between the ages of 8 and 12) have been attending since 2016 and have received the Discover-level Arts Award. They are now working towards the next level, Explore. They have taken part in many discussions about exhibitions they’ve visited at the RA, and have learnt how to look closely and think about art, skills they are now looking forward to sharing in their Summer Exhibition Edit.
This event has limited capacity, headsets for the tour will be distributed on a first come first served basis
