Children taking part in SEN schools week

Join us on a voyage of discovery through ‘Oceania’ in a series of tailor-made workshops for students with special educational needs and disabilities.

Students will encounter treasures from the past along with contemporary pieces, while exploring themes from the exhibition, looking at objects and artworks in the galleries and experiencing poetry and multisensory objects.

Afterwards, in the art making workshop, we’ll create works using a variety of natural materials using techniques based on some of the traditional ways of making that can be seen in the exhibition.

Our tailor-made multisensory workshops are led by experienced artist educators for students with special educational needs and disabilities. Each of these workshops includes gallery-based conversation and object handling, followed by an art making session.
