Royal Academy America and Sotheby's invite you to a private dinner and conversation with RA Artistic Director Tim Marlow and Matthew Teitelbaum, Director of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Join us for an intimate discussion surrounding the exhibition Matisse in the Studio at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, which will travel to the Royal Academy of Arts this August.
Henri Matisse – who revolutionised 20th-century art – believed that a treasured group of objects was instrumental to his studio practice. Opening at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston on 9 April and at the Royal Academy of Arts on 5 August, Matisse in the Studio is the first major international exhibition to examine the importance of Matisse’s personal collection of objects, offering unprecedented insight into the great artist’s creativity.
Royal Academy America Patrons will have the opportunity to discuss these rare pairings of Matisse’s major works with objects of inspiration prior to their London debut in Matisse in the Studio at its only US venue at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
This event is open to RA America Patrons only. For further information please contact April Moorhouse, Events & Patron Membership Manager, at rsvp@raamerica.org or +1 (212) 980-8404.
