Patrons: twilight tour to Alexander Calder's 'From the Stony River to the Sky'
Friday 6 July 2018 5 - 10pm
Hauser & Wirth, Somerset
£60 per person. Patrons only.
Join us on a twilight tour to discover Alexander Calder’s new major exhibition at Hauser & Wirth Somerset.
From the Stony River to the Sky is a major solo exhibition from American Sculptor Alexander Calder organised by Hauser & Wirth Somerset. The exhibition runs through all five gallery spaces with over 80 pieces, including large-scale outdoor works set within the gardens at Durslade Farm. A majority of the work has never before been shown in the UK and includes an extraordinary selection of the artist’s handcrafted domestic objects borrowed from the artist’s Roxbury home in Connecticut, not only offering insight into the artist’s life but also revealing the integration of his artistic practice.
The event will include travel from Bruton station to Hauser & Wirth, dinner at The Bull Inn and transport back to London after the event. As the event will end after the last train back to London, we have organised for a minibus to return Patrons to Central London after dinner.
