Please join us for a private tour of the exhibition by Adam Waterton, Head of the RA Library.
In September 2015 the Royal Academy will present a unique project in the Academy’s historic Library and Print Room curated by the ceramic-artist and writer Edmund de Waal. The project is an exploration of the colour white and the impact that white objects have on their surroundings; an interweaving of words and books with sculpture, paintings and photographs. Works ranging from a small ivory netsuke the size of a forefinger, to a glowing white-washed Cy Twombly sculpture, from J.M.W. Turner’s white porcelain palette to a large-scale photo-work by Hiroshi Sugimoto will be displayed alongside the books and manuscripts in Britain’s oldest fine arts library.
Limited availability.
