Join us for a walking tour of King’s Cross and discover the architectural visionaries who have revolutionised and transformed an enormous site of post-industrial London.
King’s Cross, London, has been dramatically reshaped by a £3 billion mega project, creating a major new office, residential and educational zone in the heart of London that's anchored around the Central St Martins campus. Formerly the site of warehouses and railways sidings, King's Cross is now home to high-profile companies including Facebook, Google and the Aga Khan Development Network.
The King's Cross development has included some of the most celebrated architects in the world, many of whom are Royal Academicians. These include Chris Wilkinson RA’s project Gasworks; Thomas Heatherwick RA’s newly opened Coal Drops Yard; Alan Stanton RA’s Central Saint Martins building; Eric Parry RA’s 4 Pancras Square; David Chipperfield RA’s One Pancras Square; Norman Foster RA’s landmark St Pancras Station and finally the Aga Khan’s new academic building by Fumihiko Maki.
