Patrons will have the first chance to view this original exhibition before the formal opening reception.

Drawing from life has been the basis of artistic training since before the Renaissance and remains central to teaching in the RA Schools. Constable, Gainsborough and Turner, along with current students, patrons and staff have all picked up a pencil to hone their talents in the historic life room. From Life will examine how artists have engaged with drawing and continue to do so today, often embracing new technologies to help distil the physiological and psychological make-up of the life mode. Central to the exhibition is Jeremy Deller’s recent work Iggy Pop life class.
