Félix Vallotton, Sunset, Villerville (Coucher de soleil, Villerville) (detail), 1917.

Oil on canvas. 55.5 x 97cm. Kunsthaus Zürich. Association of Zürich Art Friends. Acquired 1977 © Kunsthaus Zürich.

We invite Patrons to join us for a curator-led tour and a drinks reception at a special evening preview of ‘Félix Vallotton: Painter of Disquiet’.

Magnetic, provocative, daring: meet Félix Vallotton. We reveal the vision of a masterful painter and printmaker who captured the emotional undercurrents of Paris at the turn of the last century.

This is the first comprehensive survey of Vallotton’s career to be held in the UK. Through more than 80 paintings and prints, we explore an extraordinary body of work: from compelling portraits, magnetic still-lifes, luminescent landscapes and bitingly satirical prints, to interior scenes which reverberate with psychological tension.

This is an opportunity for Patrons to see the exhibition ahead of the opening, accompanied by a drinks reception as well as a curator-led tour of the exhibition.
