Patrons are invited to the East London home of British actor and art collector, Russell Tovey.
An acclaimed actor known for his roles in The History Boys and the BBC series Being Human, Russell Tovey is also a passionate collector and supporter of the arts.
His collection began with the acquisition of a Tracey Emin monoprint from White Cube, bought with his first pay check from The History Boys. Excited by the buzz of investing in art and buying something that would outlive him, his collection grew rapidly, beginning with contemporary female British artists and soon expanding.
Today Tovey’s collection is a reflection of his journey with art since the early 2000s. Currently focused on emerging American-based artists employing figurative and geometric abstraction, he has recently acquired works by Jamian Juliano-Villani, Tony Lewis, Torey Thornton, Jonas Wood, Shio Kusaka and Walter Price. The collection also includes works by many Royal Academicians including Tracey Emin, Michael Craig Martin, Rose Wylie and Wolfgang Tillmans.
