Félix Vallotton, The Lie (Le Mensonge)(detail), 1897.

Oil on cardboard. 24 x 33.4cm. The Baltimore Museum of Art. The Cone Collection, formed by Dr. Claribel Cone and Miss Etta Cone of Baltimore, Maryland, BMA 1950.298.

We invite Patrons to join us for a curator-led tour and a light breakfast at a special morning preview of ‘Félix Vallotton: Painter of Disquiet’.

Magnetic, provocative, daring: meet Félix Vallotton. We reveal the vision of a masterful painter and printmaker who captured the emotional undercurrents of Paris at the turn of the last century.

This is the first comprehensive survey of Vallotton’s career to be held in the UK. Through more than 80 paintings and prints, we explore an extraordinary body of work: from compelling portraits, magnetic still-lifes, luminescent landscapes and bitingly satirical prints, to interior scenes which reverberate with psychological tension.

This is an opportunity for Patrons to see the exhibition ahead of the opening, accompanied by a light breakfast as well as a curator-led tour of the exhibition.
