Friends of the RA book first
Develop your drawing skills through a two hour life drawing session in the Keeper's House. Price includes materials and a glass of wine.
Get ready for our first ever Friends Week – seven days of specially planned events, activities and exclusive tours, just for you. See us up close like never before: learn, discover and marvel.
There is so much more to the Royal Academy than our world-class exhibitions programme, so step beyond our galleries and hear from our trusted Red Collars and our esteemed Academicians, take a tour of our historic library and brush up your own skills with an expert-led life drawing class in our very first Friends Week.
There will be refreshments available to purchase in the break of the session at the bar, though do arrive early if you would like a drink or food before the session begins, and of course, the Shenkman Bar, Restaurant and Academicians Room (opening to Friends during this week only) will be open after 9pm for those looking to socialise with friends and share their experience.
Whilst we will provide you with drawing materials (dry materials only i.e. charcoal, crayon and pencils), we do ask that you bring your own A2 hardback sketchbook along.
The session will be run by the eminent painter and teacher, Michael Kirkbride. This is an untutored session, however, he will be on hand to offer advice, inspiration and guidance throughout.
