Friends enjoy a private tour of this exceptional Jacobean House and its gardens.
Home to the Toke family for over 600 years, the house is built around a medieval core, the entrance is into the original main front of 1628. The interior is a rich and wonderful treasure-house of glorious carved paneling and friezes, and an exceptional collection of porcelain, Chippendale furniture and paintings, including a fine portrait of David Garrick by Sir Joshua Reynolds PPRA. Following our private tour of the house, we tour the magnificent gardens with the head gardener. We also visit the charming 14th-century church of St Mary’s at Great Chart, with an introduction from the Rev’d Tim Wilson.
Includes coach, coffee, lunch, glass of wine and tea.
