Follow the journey from seeds to bouquets, in this exploration of the world of seasonal British floristry. Discover the challenges of growing, picking and arranging seasonal floristry year-round.
Tregothnan is devoted to sustainability, minimal flower miles and the seasonality that comes with British flowers. So whilst you won't find them using roses in spring, you will find anemones, daffodils, tulips, alstromeria and freesias gracing their hand-tied bouquets.
Tregothnan’s floristry has its roots in 18th century 'house flowers'. The Head Gardener would decorate the house with fresh flowers whenever the family were at home. Floral competitiveness among the great British houses encouraged rapid specialisation, dominated by Dutch and tropical imports from the mid-20th century. Tregothnan is now pioneering the return to British grown flowers, remaining true to their ethos of premium-quality local produce.
