Friends of the RA book first
The RA is currently undergoing one of the biggest physical changes in its 249-year history. This Friends Week, take a behind-the-scenes hard-hat tour of our development. This is a unique opportunity to see the construction in progress and learn more about the RA's future.
The 250th anniversary of the RA, RA250, will be celebrated with a grand re-launch of our site, with the addition of new exhibition spaces, a lecture theatre, function rooms and more. By joining the two buildings at Burlington House and Burlington Gardens, we hope to cement our reputation as a place to make, exhibit and debate art.
On this exclusive hard-hat tour, learn how David Chipperfield Architects will unite our Grade II*-listed buildings, while honouring the architectural and historical interests of the two sites. This will be a fascinating chance to understand the RA’s history and how the redevelopment will shape the RA’s future.
Please be aware that this walking tour will last one hour and involves standing with minimal access to seating. It should also be noted that due to the historic nature of the buildings, not all areas of the tour will be accessible for wheelchair users. If you are interested in attending and have access or mobility requirements, please contact the ticketing team on 020 7300 8090 for further advice and information.
Booking is essential for this event; if you wish to bring a guest please book one ticket for each person.
Tickets to this event include a donation to support the redevelopment of the RA. For nearly 250 years, the RA has been a place where art is made, exhibited and debated. Thank you for supporting the future of the RA by participating in this event.
Please note that this event will also take place on 18 May.
Meet in the Academicians' Room for tea and coffee at 10.45am. The tour begins at 11am.
