Join art handler, Simon Streather, as he reveals the technical secrets and inner workings of realising the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy.
Tasked with looking after works by great masters to delicate new installations to thousands of pieces each year in our annual Summer Exhibition, our art handlers often work tirelessly through the night to facilitate the world-class exhibitions exhibited at the RA. Art handler, Simon Streather, will go into detail about the installation behind the biggest open submission exhibition in the world and reveal what’s been his most challenging hang of recent years.
Taking place throughout Friends Week, we are offering Friends of the RA a unique opportunity to gain insight to the inner workings of the Royal Academy through talks, tours, workshops, stories and anecdotes from the experts.
This event is open to members of the Academicians’ Room, Friends of the RA and RA250 Friends and RA250 Supporters.
Members of the Academicians' Room, please call 020 7300 8090 to book. Friends of the RA can book by phone or online.
