Friends of the RA book first
Helene Schjerfbeck
We invite Friends of the RA to join us for an exclusive preview of our exhibition 'Helene Schjerfbeck' this summer, ahead of the public opening.
Discover the mesmerising paintings of Helene Schjerfbeck, one of Finland’s best-kept secrets, in the UK’s first major exhibition of her work. See over 60 landscapes, still lifes and a sequence of self-portraits as we trace the evolution of her remarkable career. In the age of the selfie, her engagement with masks and masquerade – the superficial appearance we present to the world and what lies beneath – is more relevant than ever. And you can see it all first, two days ahead of the public opening.
This event is open to Friends of the RA, RA250 Friends and RA250 Supporters and members of the Academicians’ Room only.
