Friends excursions: women’s suffrage and Westminster walking tour
Walk in the footsteps of those who won votes for women on this guided walking tour, exclusively for RA Friends.
On this guided walking tour of Westminster, you’ll hear the rousing stories behind the rallies, militant tactics and self-sacrifice of the women’s suffrage movement which took place over 100 years ago.
We follow a compelling trail from Caxton Hall to Trafalgar Square with highlights including the Suffragette Fellowship Memorial and the monument to Emmeline Pankhurst. Our guide will lead the way with tales of disruption of public meetings and the story of the women who, in 1909, posted themselves to 10 Downing Street.
