Booking and attending Friends excursions and events
Join Friends of the RA to enjoy a talk and private curator’s tour of the Towner Gallery’s exhibition, 'Ravilious & Co: The Pattern of Friendship'. Friends will also be able to experience a behind-the-scenes tour of the gallery’s art store, where we view murals from Berwick Church by the Bloomsbury Group artists.
Ravillious and Co: The Pattern of Friendship explores the significant relationships and working collaborations between Ravilious and an important group of friends and affiliates, including Paul and John Nash, Edward Bawden, Enid Marx, Tirzah Garwood, Thomas Hennell and Peggy Angus.
The exhibition includes many of Ravilious’ key works shown alongside both well-known and less-seen works by his contemporaries, including work by artists that have never before been publicly exhibited. The tour of the art stores reveals the stories behind Towner’s impressive art collection, from the original Victorian bequest to recent acquisitions of works by contemporary artists.
Midway through our visit we will have a delicious two-course lunch at The Grand Hotel, Eastbourne’s finest dining venue, which is only a short walk from the gallery.
This is an exceptional opportunity to tour this exhibition without the crowds.
