Curator for the multinational law firm Linklaters, Catherine Shearn, leads this tour of their London headquarters, which houses over 1500 artworks ranging from the 1950s to the present day.

Friends will be guided around the Linklaters building to see selected highlights of the collection, which brings together a coherent group of artworks all selected on their individual merit rather than the status of the artist. The resultantly rich and colourful collection contains works by unknown artists as well household names such as Tessa Jarrett, William Tiller, Terry Frost RA, Barbara Hepworth, Anthony Caro RA, Maurice Cockerill RA, Albert Irvin RA and newly elected Keeper of the RA Schools, Rebecca Salter RA.

The focus of the collecting policy has been to source works that explore the artists’ processes and approach as well as the connections and influences between artists. The aim is to provide a culturally stimulating environment for both visitors to the offices and for the people who work there.

Following our tour, drinks and nibbles will be served, giving time for Friends to share some lively discussion about the collection.
