Booking and attending Friends excursions and events
Join fellow Friends for a lively evening at the Fashion and Textile Museum’s '1920s Jazz Age Fashion & Photographs' exhibition with an introductory talk from the curator.
Enjoy a glass of fizz with behind-the-scenes access to this glittering display of haute couture and ready-made fashion from 1919 to 1929. Follow the changing silhouette of the decade, accompanied by the stars of the silver screen, with portraits of Louise Brooks, Dorothy Gish, Gilda Gray, Fred Astaire and many others by Jazz Age photographer James Abbe.
Paying homage to the importance of cinema and its influence on Jazz Age style, the exhibition starts in a darkened movie theatre with silent film clips, followed by a private tour of the exhibition, which showcases over 200 garments and photographs.
