Friends have a very rare opportunity to visit Crosby Hall, described by Country Life as "the most important surviving secular domestic medieval building in London".
Built in 1466 by Sir John Crosby and famously relocated brick by brick from Bishopsgate to Chelsea in 1910, Crosby Hall is now owned by Dr Christopher Moran and opens exclusively for Friends. The Hall’s interior reflects Dr, Moran’s deep interest in Tudor arts and culture.
Dr Moran will lead the tour. As well as describing the current painstaking restoration project, we will learn about the Hall’s tumultuous past and explore the history of some of its most famous occupants, including Richard III (while he was Duke of Gloucester), and later Sir Thomas More.
