Booking and attending Friends excursions and events
Friends privately tour the home of the Worshipful Company of Armourers and Braziers, viewing the company’s exceptional collection of Tudor art and armour.
The Armourers and Braziers Company has occupied its site in the City of London since 1346. After surviving the Great Fire of London, the Hall was completely rebuilt in 1839 to become the beautiful listed building it remains today, with its stunning blend of 16th– and 17th–century armour, weapons and paintings.
Friends enjoy a tour of the building led by the company’s clerk, who will tell us about the history of the company, as well as presenting artworks that include Tudor portraits by Marcus Gheerarts and John de Criz, as well as armour belonging to Elizabeth I’s Queen’s Champion, Sir Henry Lee.
This event is also taking place on 22 September 2017.
