Booking and attending Friends excursions and events
Join fellow Friends for a visit to London’s newest museum, which brings five centuries of communications history to life.
In this curator-led tour developed exclusively for RA Friends, explore the interactive galleries and see treasures from the Postal Museum’s rich archives. Immerse yourself in a subterranean rail ride through the original tunnels and station platforms that once made up the arteries of Britain’s communication network.
The Museum’s hugely diverse collection covers subjects ranging from social history to transport and publicity material. It contains posters and artworks by giants of graphic design, and a vast stamp collection that includes every British stamp issued from 1840 to the present day.
Following the tour, Friends are free to explore the Postal Museum’s permanent collection and Museum, which holds a varied collection of objects that reflect the development of postal history over the decades.
