Join storyteller Wendy Shearer and help weave a story around Anansi the Spider, one of the most important characters of West African and Caribbean folklore, whose stories have been handed down orally for generations.
Anansi is a rogue, a mischief-maker, and a wise, lovable creature, who triumphs over larger foes and is celebrated as a symbol of slave resistance and survival.
Wendy Shearer is a storyteller who has performed in venues across London including the Royal Festival Hall, Shakespeare’s Globe and the British Museum. She runs storytelling workshops at schools and her background is in researching and producing programmes for CBBC and Nickelodeon USA.
