Draw real-life geckos, iguanas and bearded dragons in this family workshop inspired by the fantastical worlds of Chris Riddell and Cressida Cowell, led by Wild Life Drawing.
Always wanted to meet a dragon? Want to see some of the fantastical beasts from your favourite books? Come close as you encounter iguanas, geckos and bearded dragons and more lovely lizards in this creative workshop led by Wild Life Drawing. We take inspiration from the fantastical worlds of How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell, and Chris Riddell’s The Emperor of Absurdia. Learn how to draw the incredible textures and colours of these crawling creatures, and hear from their expert handlers about their natural habitats, the conservation issues that affect the species and responsible pet ownership. All the animals are from a local reptile sanctuary which provides a happy home for unwanted or mistreated reptiles.
Wild Life Drawing was founded in 2014 by Jennie Webber, a London-based artist and animal lover. She works only with the finest animal sanctuaries, charities and trusted handlers to ensure all the animals at the sessions are happy around humans. These reptiles are unwanted pets that have been rehomed by a specialist reptile sanctuary that makes their welfare the highest priority.
This event is suitable for ages 7+.
