Taking part in a family workshop

Photo: Benedict Johnson

Come as a family to this free, drop-in workshop and create a canoe to explore the high seas, inspired by our ‘Oceania’ exhibition.

Join us for a drop-in workshop and create your own ocean landscape inspired by our Oceania exhibition. Meet Shaaroni Leionaonapoina’ole Wong from the Polynesian Voyaging Society to hear about the Hōkūleʻa (‘Star of Gladness’), a very special deep sea voyaging canoe, and learn about the wayfinding techniques used by her crew. Be inspired by the diverse region of Oceania and all its animals and sea creatures, or invent your own.
