Lucian Freud: The Self-portraits
Join a creative workshop for community groups inspired by Lucian Freud’s self-portraits.
Lucian Freud: The Self-portraits brings together more than 50 paintings, prints, and drawings that see the artist turning his unflinching gaze on himself. Freud depicts himself in a wide range of styles and media that not only showcase his artistic development but also confront the viewer with the process of ageing.
In this session, an artist-educator will support participants to view and respond to a variety of artworks in the exhibition. Afterwards, they will be guided to create their own artwork in response to the pieces they’ve seen and discussed.
These workshops are designed for groups working with disabled adults or adults facing barriers to engaging with arts and culture. We encourage groups to bring between 7–15 participants so we can ensure everyone attending is fully supported to engage with the workshop.
Refreshments and volunteer support is provided.
