Oceania
Join us for a creative workshop inspired by artworks in ‘Oceania’.
Marking 250 years since Cook’s first voyage to the Pacific, Oceania will bring together around 200 works to celebrate the diverse creativity of the region of Oceania.
In this session, two artist educators will support participants to explore and respond to a variety of artworks from shell, greenstone and ceramic ornaments, to huge canoes and dazzling house façades. Afterwards, the group will be guided to create their own artworks inspired by ideas of voyaging, place making and encounter.
These workshops are designed for groups working with disabled adults or adults facing barriers to engaging with arts and culture. We advise groups be fewer than 15 people so we can ensure everyone attending is properly supported to engage with the workshop.
