As the RA mounts a major exhibition of her work, we examine the pioneering painter Angelica Kaufman RA.
Artist David Price will lead and demonstrate using techniques familiar to the first female Royal Academician using charcoal, oils and canvas. With props, costumes and live models we will recreate a tableau based upon Kauffman’s work.
Through demonstrations and conversations, you will be encouraged to explore drawing and painting and create your own Kauffman-inspired masterpieces, allowing you to spend a weekend inside the shoes of the first female of the Academy.
David Price is a practising artist who studied at the Royal College of Art. A former Print Fellow at the RA, Price has over 25 years of teaching experience – specialising in both traditional and experimental painting techniques.
