Enjoy an exclusive life-drawing session for Friends and Academicians’ Room members in the historic Sir Hugh Casson Room, concentrating on gesture drawing using a limited number of marks.

In this session, our professional life models will take up a series of exciting and dynamic short poses. Participants are encouraged to adopt a visual shorthand and attempt to perceive the pose in its entirety but using only a limited number of critical marks. With time, the initial gesture drawing is further refined to create a succinct and expressive depiction of the human form.

Whether you are a regular participant, would like to hone your skills or try life-drawing for the first time, these three-hour regular and immersive sessions, taught by expert teacher and practising artist Mick Kirkbride, are a wonderful way to experience life drawing in a supportive and friendly environment.

This event is open to Friends of the RA, RA250 Friends and RA250 Supporters, and members of the Academicians’ Room only.
