The RA’s historic Life Room becomes a drawing laboratory where you're encouraged to train your eye and use a variety of materials including chalk, pencil, ink and watercolour.
Participants will work through numerous drawing exercises and experiments including developing a personal response to the model, gestural drawing, working from memory, as well as drawing in a traditional manner.
The course is led by artist and former President of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, Robin-Lee Hall, who will guide participants through various, dynamic approaches to drawing the figure in both observational and imaginative ways.
Each session will end with a friendly critique.
Robin-Lee Hall is a practising artist specialising in egg tempera. She is a past President of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. She has won the Ondaatje Prize for Portraiture and has exhibited widely including in the BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery
