Radical Geometry
The legendary Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez, a key figure in Kinetic and Op Art, discusses his experiments with colour and movement and how he engages viewers with his art, in this exceptional event.
Cruz-Diez has pioneered the integration of colour, science and movement in art for over 60 years. His work includes paintings, huge projects in public spaces, and light installations (recently seen last year at the Hayward Gallery’s 'Light Show'). In a wide-ranging conversation with Dr. Joanne Harwood, Cruz-Diez reflects upon his career, the unstable nature of colour, and his commitment to art that directly engages its viewers. He will also be signing copies of his book 'Reflection on Colour'.
Dr. Joanne Harwood is Director of the Essex Collection of Art from Latin America (ESCALA, University of Essex).
This is an RA Schools event, supported by the David Lean Foundation.
SOLD OUT Any returns on the evening will be sold from 6pm on the door.
