Kindly hosted by Lady Barbara Judge, this private breakfast invites Benjamin West Patrons to listen to expert insight and lively discussion from Phillips Auctioneers Deputy Chairman of Europe and Asia, Matt Carey-Williams.
Buying and selling art has never been a bigger business. The last few years have seen ever higher prices paid at auction for key works of art, with recent blockbuster sales topping the £100 million mark.
Matt Carey-Williams has been Deputy Chairman for Europe and Asia at Phillips Auctioneers LLC since January 2015, where he focuses on developing relationships with contemporary collectors, artists, galleries and museums in both these key markets. He has 17 years of experience in the contemporary art market and previously served as Director in the Sales Department at White Cube Gallery, London. He started his career at Sotheby’s in 1997, where he spent almost a decade during a key time in the development of the contemporary art market. He has worked at Gagosian in New York and Haunch of Venison in London where he was International Director.
At this private breakfast event, Carey-Williams will discuss the current art market and share his expert insight with Patrons.
