Friends of the RA book first
Delve into Belgium’s renowned brewing culture and sample a range of specialty beers at this tasting masterclass for Friends.
Belgium’s beer tradition, which stretches back centuries, continues to be a centre of modern-day brewing excellence. Inspired by the RA’s recent exhibition celebrating the work of Belgian painter James Ensor, this special event will treat you to a tour of the country’s wide range of fine beers.
This event is hosted by leading beer historian, lecturer and taster Roger Protz, winner of the Glenfiddich Drink Writer of the Year award and editor of the annual Good Beer Guide.
Flemish culture events
The Government of Flanders has collaborated with the Royal Academy to create a bespoke series of events exclusively for Friends of the RA celebrating Flemish culture. Embodying the birthplace of James Ensor, the series draws inspiration from the fascinating exhibition Intrigue: James Ensor by Luc Tuymans.
