Summer Exhibition 2015
Brothers-in-Art… A View from the Street: an event for blind and visually impaired visitors, including an audio described tour of the Summer Exhibition, plus an art-making workshop.
This is an InTouch event with a difference! Blind artist educator David Johnson and his brother Johnny (Ian) Johnson will present this year’s Summer Exhibition in a colourful, compelling and unconventional way. Johnny will audio-describe selected works from the point of view of an interested lay-person, drawing on his love of art, wealth of experience of alternative cultures and anecdotes from his many acquaintances in the arts fraternity. David will follow this with an art-making workshop that will focus on some of the key themes of the show, including colour, which vibrates strongly throughout the exhibition. This event will be conducted in a relaxed, friendly manner, bringing to life elements of the exhibition that are often obscured to blind and visually impaired people.
This event is part of InTouch at the RA, a programme of events for blind and partially sighted visitors.
