Mafalda has a unique inclination for soul, jazz, bossa and other heart-warming sounds, and has played with the likes of Sadar Bahar, Floating Points, Antal and Hunee.
London-based Portuguese DJ, Mafalda is quickly establishing herself as one of the most tasteful record players in town. She appears on NTS regularly and recently played an incredible set for Brazil day on Worldwide FM. Mafalda also co-runs Melodies Int. with Floating Points, a label devoted to unveiling hidden disco gems from the past.

Drawn to a city where DJs play jazz on the dancefloor, Mafalda has quickly made tracks as a joyful selector of spiritual grooves, straying gleefully across genres as a regular on NTS, Worldwide and festivals like Dimensions.

Art of sound
A brand new series of Friday night DJ sessions taking place in the Academicians’ Room this autumn.
We’ve asked some of our favourite London-based DJs to dive into their archives for a series of unique club nights in the heart of the Royal Academy. Throughout autumn, DJs from a wide range of musical backgrounds will take over the Academicians’ Room, sharing their personal favourites as well as the hidden gems they’ve discovered on their musical journeys.
The Academicians’ Room
An exclusive private members club for artists and art lovers.
The Academicians’ Room is a place to feel at home; a place to come together in a club setting designed exclusively for members. The club room in the Keeper’s House began life in 1883 as an architectural gallery, before becoming the favourite haunt of the Academy’s artists as a private members club. The room has now entered a new phase in its rich history, with a fresh look by the renowned Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. Vintage furnishings now create the intimate, bohemian ambience of an artist’s drawing room. It’s a vibrant and relaxed haven in the heart of Mayfair, join as a member and enjoy the company of this special artistic community.
