The Academicians’ Room welcomes London based Deep Tenor City to the ever popular Art of Sound series.
Based in London, Dan has been collecting music since the late eighties and can be found DJ’ing at various venues, home and overseas. He is involved in production, radio shows, DJ’ing and curation. Dan has released three EPs on BBE through his Deep Tenor City project, and co-presents the monthly Deep Tenor City Radio Show on Soho Radio. The show showcases Dan’s passion for soul jazz, Afro-boogie, house, free soul, 1st and 2nd generation disco, and Latin.
Members of the Academicians’ Room are welcome to bring friends along to enjoy the DJs and, of course, our classic and signature cocktails.
This event is open to members of the Academicians’ Room, Patrons and Friends of the Royal Academy and booking is required. A limited number of tickets are available to the general public, so be quick to book if you don’t want to miss out!

Art of Sound series
We return this autumn with a new season of Art of Sound in the Academicians’ Room by welcoming back Resident DJs Sunil Pawar (Sunslingshot) and Monty O on Thursday nights to share their personal favourites alongside new London-based DJs. Plus, we welcome jazz musicians Mark Kavuma Trio in a two-day residency.
Join us for a series of unique music nights in the heart of the Royal Academy where the Academicians' Room will be filled with vibrant live jazz, afro-boogie, house and disco music.
