Anthony Green RA
To coincide with his RA exhibition and the launch of a new book about his work, artist Anthony Green RA discusses his career and artistic practice with fellow Royal Academician, Timothy Hyman.
The paintings of Anthony Green RA are immediately recognisable from their characteristically irregular shapes and the artist’s acutely personal choice of subject matter. Green’s work has been a fixture in the Academy’s Summer Exhibition for the last 50 years. This conversation with painter Timothy Hyman RA explores Green’s career from the 1960s to the present day, focusing on his new exhibition at the RA; the centrepiece of which is a never-before-shown painting telling the story of Green’s mother’s second marriage, seen through his eyes as a 13-year-old boy.
Doors open at 2.30pm. Unclaimed seats will be released to those waiting for returns at 2.55pm. No admittance will be granted after 3pm.
