This guided walk tells the story of Prince Albert's vision for a cultural and educational enclave to be financed by the profits of the Great Exhibition of 1851.
Friends learn how Prince Albert’s vision was realised by a team of eminent Victorians who transformed an area of South Kensington, previously renowned for its market gardens, into London's most famous concentration of museums, colleges and cultural venues. This walk also includes the site of the Exhibition in Hyde Park and the nearby Albert Memorial.
This event is also taking place on 8 March and 22 March 2016.
