Matt Ager (b. 1985 St Albans, England) previously studied at Camberwell College of Art. Selecting a combination of found and bought materials, Ager creates facsimiles, hybrids and replicas of interior domestic objects, such as work surfaces, shelving and fake fruit.
Ager’s practice explores a lo-fi vs hi-fi relationship where a hierarchy becomes ambiguous. The work suggests elements of a novelty value whilst pointing toward competent craftsmanship.
