RA Collection: Art

William Hogarth's mahl stick was given to Sir David Wilkie RA by Sir George Beaumont in 1807. James Hall bought the mahl stick from a sale of Wilkie's effects after his death in 1841 and then presented it to the Royal Academy the following year.
