Oriana Georgiana Reinagle, Tree with leafy branches

Tree with leafy branches

Attributed to Oriana Georgiana Reinagle (1794 - 1875)

RA Collection: Art

A pencil drawing of the leafy upper branches of a large tree. This is very similar to other drawings in the Royal Academy collection by Oriana Georgiana Reinagle, daughter of Phillip Reinagle, and is likely to be her work. Reinagle seems to have been following J.D. Harding's system for drawing trees and may have been teaching a pupil or working on her own variation of the system.
