Margaret Evangeline Wilson (1890 - 1977)

RA Collection: Art

This study of a cast of a foot and five other drawings were given to the Academy by the artist. A type-written and signed note accompanying the gift states that the drawings were "executed for submission for scholarship at the Royal Academy Schools, and this was obtained in 1912, at the age of 22 years". She also states that "the hand and foot [were drawn] at the school run by two Royal Academy Students, the Misses Deane and Rushton, at 7A Clairville Grove, South Kensington".

After leaving the Royal Academy Schools, Margaret E. Wilson went on to become a painter and examples of her work are to be found in the British Museum, the Russell Cotes Art Gallery and Museum, Bournemouth and also in the Brighton and Hove Museums.
