Sir George Clausen RA, Landscape with sunny sky

Landscape with sunny sky, probably 1920s / 1930s

Sir George Clausen RA (1852 - 1944)

RA Collection: Art

This landscape shows a view from a hillside across fields towards a farm or village. Clausen has drawn in radiating strokes to indicate the sun shining low in the sky and the subject of the composition is probably a sunrise. The drawing was very likely made in the Essex countryside around Clausen's home at Duton Hill, probably in the 1920s or early 1930s.
